NO DAPL Oil

In Illinois Soil

Construction on DAPL is proceeding with little  to no resistance. It's time we organize as well as those who put profit over people and successfully halt construction on DAPL in Illinois. These efforts are not to take away from those in North Dakota or Iowa but to form the resistance from start (ND) to finish (IL) along this black snake. ~Alex C. (Art By Randi Wells)

The movement in Montrose meets the showdown in Sandusky!

Join students, farmers, Native Americans, and everyday people from all walks of life on the banks of the Mississippi River, Saturday, October 1, 10am-4pm, for the biggest and most important day of SE IA action against the Dakota Access Bakken oil pipeline to date!

Enough is enough! We believe that we will win!

For the last three weeks, water warriors, land defenders, and river keepers have taken mass action in SE Iowa to save the Mighty Mississippi and shut down the Dakota Access pipeline. Together we have built the beloved community at the same time we have mobilized hundreds of people, shut down drilling and other construction for hours, and made national headlines.

Our window to act is closing. Indigenous movement leaders in North Dakota have succeeded in indefinitely stopping construction underneath the Missouri River, but the pipeline is all but completed in South Dakota and Illinois. Dakota Access is on track to finish most of the Iowa portion of the pipeline by the end of October, just a few short weeks from now.

That's why we must continue to do everything we can to throw a monkey wrench in their plans. Every time we slow Big Oil down here in Iowa, every time we raise the costs the company and the state have to bear, we increase the chances that our Indian brothers and sisters in North Dakota will win the decisive battles ahead they need to permanently shut down the Black Snake for good. Mass action is what solidarity looks like.

History is happening, and the role we have to play is still a critical one. The time to stand up and speak out is now.

Dakota Access has yet to feel the full power of our movement. Saturday, October 1 will be that day.

Will you join us? Hundreds of people just like you are coming. All are asked to mainfest a spirit of peace, love, and righteous anger, and refrain from the use or possession of drugs, alcohol, or weapons.

One Big Heart. One Big Movement. One Big Impact.
